Det spørgsmål har vi fået, minimum, 200 gange de sidste par uger og jeg undres over det altid er lige det som er vigtigst. Ikke hvad vi vil, om vi kun vil være i Danmark eller hvorfor vi gør det. Men det er naturligvis helt i orden da det er det folk undres over og derfor det vi skal fortælle mere om det et centralt sted, vores blog.

Hvordan Vil Jomito Tjene Penge?

Vi vil gerne opbygge en kæmpebase af brugere som er glade for Jomito og stoler på at vi altid er på deres side. Så vil vi samarbejde med bilforhandlere, ejendomsmæglere, webshops (store og små), firmaer som endnu ikke har en online tilstedeværelse og alle som ønsker at sælge varer til vores brugere. Vi vil tiknytte et transportselskab, flyttefirma og kort sagt alle slags udbydere af produkter som er relevante for vores brugere.

Alle disse skal naturligvis betale for at være med hos Jomito men det betyder ikke vi vil flå dem – alt skal være rimeligt og vi mener det er i vores brugeres interesse at der er MANGE valgmuligheder og derfor prissætter vi os lavt og satser hellere på flere kunder der betaler lidt end få kunder der betaler meget.

Der kommer aldrig reklamebannere på Jomito og kontakt mellem brugere vil altid være gratis. Det kan være svært at forstå da alle andre tager den løsning men vi mener det er tid til forandring. Det er tid til at brugeren kommer tilbage i centrum og bliver respekteret som et menneske og ikke blot en forbruger med et Dankort.

Nogen gange gør man bare noget fordi man gerne vil. Ikke kun for pengene.

Dagens Opgaver og Oplevelser

I dag har været endnu fantastisk dag med masser succesfulde heftige tests af upload og share funktioner. En masse arbejde på brugerbetingelser, korrekturer og design. Det kører rigtig godt men der er et stykke vej endnu.

Morgenen startede med et møde med en god ven som er hos et PR bureau. Vi drøftede hvordan vi skulle gribe det an for vi ærligt talt ikke haft den luksus af tid til at lave en plan for det. Men vi fik en masse gode og logiske råd som vi naturligvis hører og husker.

Vores absolut topfokus lige nu er at sørge for at Jomito virker når vi lancerer, alt andet er helt irrelelvant men det gør jo ikke noget at tale om worst/best case scanarier.

Så fik vi en “good luck” mail fra vores inspirator Seth Godin som jo ikke bare giver en masse gratis råd hver dag på sin blog men også har fulgt det op med en lancering af Squidoo som er lige nede af vores gade. Gode gratis råd til alle som måske i sidste ende ender i et salg. Dem som gider gøre en indsats skal også belønnes.

I forlængelse af dette så jeg her til aften at ZenDesk havde fået seed funding. ZenDesk er et superlækkert produkt og arbejder med et smukt design og nemt user interface, kig over og læs deres blog. Tillykke med det!

Der sker virkelig noget for tiden i denne branche. Nætterne ejes virkelig af mennesker med et drive og ønsker om lave noget nyt og spændende.

Vi fortsætter med “night coding” og holder snuden i sporet.

Being More Specific

Thank you for spending your time here, I hope I can make it worth your while.

Tonight I want to be more specific and let you more in on what we are about to create for everybody in this world. Everybody with an online connection, for a start, anyway.

Basically we want to create the best service in the world when it comes to classifieds and contact between buyers and sellers, both consumer to consumer and business to consumer. Our outmost task is to combine great design and user interface with easy contact between people who can be trusted and wants to trust people.

The way to do this is actually quite easy, as all we have to do is, ask the consumer; “What do you value the most?”, and take action from there. We have heard a lot of people complaining about missing features on their favorite sites and the same sites not listening to their users when they air their complaints and suggestions. This we intend to do from day one and this is also why we welcome any comments on this blog. Ask away and comment away!

Well, here are the specific details as we were told to create it:

1. Remove all graphical banners

2. Make all content free – it’s user generated anyway

3. Make search the most important part of you business and not just a search field.

4. Allow people to make suggestions and listen

5. Never, ever be anything but independent

All parts here are really tough to accept for many entrepreneurs to get around, without thinking of losing a lot of revenue and this of course is a huge problem as the most businesses are made with the purpose of making money before anything else.

We would like to change that perception with Jomito.

We actually did the exact opposite and turned everything upside down by having focus on one thing, and one thing only; the consumer, the user, the audience. How can we go wrong? If we make what people ask for, we will soon have loads users and traffic and if you have a lot of both you just have to create some services that people will pay for, to go with the free content. In this world people know that nothing is free but does that really meen that you have to rely on loads of banners and premium content, to make an honest living? We are quite sure you can do it by offering really relevant services that gives value for money.

On Jomito.com you will not be able to buy graphical banners for irrelevant content but you will be able to advertise for your own content but only in a relevant way, no matter how much cash you throw at us, ever. The technical part of this I can not reveal yet – but I will later in the process.

To sum it up; on Jomito.com you will be able to buy and sell everything to anyone, anywhere. Transport, price compare, contact, search and content will be as easy as ever. You can even find your job here or get good advice from a load of experts in each category whether it’s regarding cars or computers. And the best part is, that it is free. Free. Free. Free. Everybody helps everybody. And people who helps people generally will sell more and so on and so on…

As we are in a start fase, launch is set to January in Denmark, we welcome all the help we can get to spread the word. We will give you all the tools you need and you can be sure that the end product is for you to be proud of when recommending it to somebody.

Our business model can be summed up by quoting my favorite marketeer, and consumer expert, Seth Godin when he talked about what makes sites like Ebay tick: “It always comes down to human nature. We’d rather buy from a friend.”

That’s really it. Imagine this; if a friend sold anything, anything you can buy somewhere else today, wouldn’t you rather buy it from him or her, than going to a huge department store or on the web from a complete stranger? Price matters, yes, but a friend is trust and trust you can’t buy – only earn.We believe you would. We would.
